“My son has been seeing Heather since February 2021. He very much enjoys his sessions and quite quickly has built a nice rapport with her. Heather has a relaxed, playful manner and her approach always seems to have my son engaged, to the point he thinks his sessions are not long enough. Heather is flexible in her approach and supportive not only to the child but to the parent as well. She has the ability to observe and hone in on areas that need focus and through this was able to help us get to the bottom of a long- term issue from an external source that was having a significant impact on my son. Her observation and professional insight into it gave weight to the gut feeling I was trying to act on but had been hitting a barrier with some elements. Heather was able to pull in the elements I was not able to and we have been able to shift that situation in a big way, with a very positive outcome. She has also opened our eyes to another area we have been able to take action on. My son has autism and he expresses a lot of emotion through art therefore Heather’s approach to communicating between the lines (so to speak) using art as the medium resonates with my son. My son is definitely better at regulating his emotions and expressing what he is feeling and his art therapy compliments his other therapies really well. He is very relaxed with Heather and I think at this stage would be happy if art therapy went on forever! I am very glad that our path led us to Heather. She is a caring, approachable and dedicated Art Therapist who I happily recommend. She creates a safe environment for all concerned.”
